Private Pool or Shared Pool at La Manga Club?

Understanding Pool Options at La Manga Club

La Manga Club is an expansive resort located in the Murcia region of South East Spain. It covers a territory of approximately fourteen hundred acres. This vast area is home to a variety of residential communities and leisure facilities. If you are looking for a villa with a private pool at La Manga Club, there are several on the resort, though none of our homes has one; all of ours share a community pool. The resort is designed to cater to different preferences regarding privacy and social interaction. Some visitors enjoy the quiet atmosphere of a detached property while others prefer the lively environment of a community pool area.

None of our 12 homes has a private pool. Every one shares a community pool, and Bellaluz and Los Molinos also have a separate children’s pool.

The layout of the resort is divided into several sectors. The central area is where you will find the the Racquets Club and many of the original communities like Bellaluz and Los Olivos. Further out towards the hills are the more modern developments such as Buena Vista and Las Mimosas. Each of these areas offers a different perspective on the resort. If you choose a property in the hills you may have views across the golf courses or out towards the Mar Menor lagoon. Properties in the centre offer easier access to the shops and restaurants located in Las Sabinas.

Swimming pools are a central feature of the holiday experience in this part of Spain. The climate in Murcia is sunny for over three hundred days every year. This means that a place to cool down is essential for any summer visit. Even in the cooler months the presence of a pool provides a beautiful focal point for the garden or terrace. You can view our full range of villas to see how different properties integrate their swimming facilities into the landscape. Understanding the distinction between private and shared pools is the first step in planning your stay at this resort.

Private Pools: What to Expect

A villa with its own pool gives a group the water to itself. These properties are typically detached and sit within their own walled gardens. This setup provides a high level of seclusion which is ideal for those who value their own space. You will not have to worry about finding a sun lounger or sharing the water with other guests. The pool is yours to use at any time of the day or night. This is particularly beneficial for families with children who can play freely without disturbing others.

Maintenance is a critical aspect of owning or renting a villa with a private pool. Professional maintenance teams visit these properties at least once or twice every week. During these visits they will test the water quality and adjust the chemical balance. They also clean the filters and brush the pool floor to ensure everything remains in top condition. This service is usually included in the rental price so guests do not have to worry about the technical side of pool care. It is a standard feature of the high end service provided at the resort.

Heating and Seasonal Use

The outdoor community pools at our homes are not heated, so they feel cool in spring and autumn. Los Olivos is the exception: residents share a heated indoor pool as well as two outdoor pools. If you plan to swim outside the summer months, choose one of our Los Olivos homes. If you rent a villa with its own pool elsewhere on the resort, ask its owner whether the pool can be heated and what that costs.

The design of these pools varies significantly. Some villas feature infinity edges that look out over the North Course or the South Course. Others have traditional rectangular shapes with wide steps that are perfect for younger children to sit on. The pool area is often surrounded by a paved terrace which provides plenty of room for dining outside or relaxing on high quality furniture.

Shared Pool Properties: Community Living

Shared pool properties are found in the many communities that make up the resort. These include apartment complexes and townhouse developments. Communities such as Los Olivos feature large swimming pools that are shared among the residents and guests of that specific area. This style of living is very popular for several reasons. First and foremost it is a social experience. Children often make new friends at the community pool which can make a holiday more enjoyable for the whole family. You can read more about the social side of the resort in our la manga club family holiday guide.

Pools differ between communities. Los Olivos residents share two outdoor pools and a heated indoor pool, while Bellaluz and Los Molinos each have a large community pool with a separate children’s pool and a seasonal poolside bar.

Social and Practical Benefits

Community pools are often larger than private ones. This makes them better suited for those who want to swim laps as part of their exercise routine. There is also a certain level of security and safety that comes with a shared pool. There are usually other people around which can be reassuring for parents. The maintenance of these pools is managed by the community administration which ensures a consistent standard of cleanliness and safety across the resort.

Another benefit of community living is the proximity to other amenities. Many of the shared pool developments are located within walking distance of the Racquets Club or the local supermarket. This means you do not always need to rely on a car to get around. For example the apartments in Bellaluz are situated around a central square which contains bars and restaurants. This creates a small village atmosphere that is very different from the more isolated feel of a large hillside villa. It is a great way to experience the local culture of the resort while still having access to excellent swimming facilities.

Comparing Costs and Value

When you are choosing between a private pool and a shared one, cost is often the deciding factor. Generally speaking a villa with its own pool will carry a higher rental price. This reflects the extra space and privacy that you are receiving. There are also higher operational costs associated with private pools. These include the electricity for the pumps and the cost of the professional cleaning service. However for larger groups or multiple families sharing a single villa the cost per person can often be comparable to renting multiple apartments.

Shared pool properties offer excellent value for money. The costs of maintaining the pool are shared across all the owners in the community. This keeps the rental prices lower while still providing access to high quality swimming facilities. If your group is small or if you plan to spend most of your time at the Racquets Club or on the golf courses then a shared pool might be the more practical choice. You can find out more about the different types of accommodation and their associated costs in our villa rental guide la manga club which provides detailed information for prospective renters.

Community pools are larger, cost less to rent alongside, and are where all of our homes are.

It is also worth considering the value of your time. In a private villa you have total control over your schedule. You do not need to wake up early to reserve a spot by the water. For many people the lack of stress and the ability to relax in total privacy is worth the extra investment. On the other hand if you enjoy being in the heart of the action then the community pools will provide more entertainment and social opportunities. Both options represent good value depending on what you want from your Murcian holiday.

Which Option Suits Your Group

The decision usually comes down to the specific needs of your group. If you are travelling as a couple or a small family a community pool may provide everything you need. The social aspect is great for children and the locations are often very convenient. If your group is larger than six, look for a bigger villa elsewhere on the resort; our homes sleep up to six. It provides a central hub where everyone can gather together without external distractions. You can browse through our villas to see which properties can accommodate larger groups.

For families with very young children safety is the primary concern. This is something that you should discuss when booking. Community pools are also safe but you will need to be more vigilant as they are open areas. If you are a group of golfers you might prefer a villa located near the first tee of the South Course. If you are here for the tennis then the communities around the Racquets Club like Los Olivos will be more suitable. Each part of the resort has its own character and its own set of advantages.

Groups who enjoy the beach may want to consider their proximity to La Cala. This is the private beach cove belonging to the resort. It is a beautiful spot with a fantastic restaurant that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. You can find out more about the facilities there by visiting our page on the beach club. While the pools are wonderful the beach offers a different kind of relaxation. Some visitors choose a villa with a private pool but still spend several days down at the coast to enjoy the sea air and the fresh seafood served at the local restaurants.

Booking a Pool Villa

Whichever pool you choose, book as early as you can for school holidays. The most popular properties are often reserved twelve months in advance especially for the peak summer weeks. When you are looking at different options make sure to check the specific details of the pool. This includes the depth the type of access steps or ladders and whether there is a shallow end for children. You should also ask about the sun orientation of the terrace. A south facing pool will get the most sun throughout the day which is ideal for those who want to work on their tan.

If you have specific requirements such as a need for a walk in shower or a kitchen that overlooks the pool area you should let the booking agent know. We are always happy to help you find the right property for your needs. You can get in touch with our team through the contact page to discuss your plans. We have local knowledge of every villa on our books and can provide practical advice on everything from the best local restaurants to the most reliable car hire companies at Corvera or Alicante airports.

Before you finalise your booking it is a good idea to read through the terms and conditions regarding pool usage. Some villas have specific rules about the use of glass around the pool area to prevent accidents. Being well prepared means your holiday gets off to a smooth start.

FAQs

Are the pools at La Manga Club heated?

The outdoor community pools at our homes are not heated. Los Olivos residents share a heated indoor pool as well as two outdoor pools. During the summer months the sun provides plenty of natural warmth for all the pools across the resort.

What is the typical cleaning schedule?

This involves removing debris from the surface vacuuming the floor and checking the chemical levels. Community pools are maintained on a daily basis by the resort staff during the high season to ensure they meet strict health and safety standards. This frequent maintenance keeps the water clear and safe for everyone to use.

Do I need to bring my own pool towels?

Many of our rental villas provide pool towels for guests but this can vary between properties. It is always best to check the inventory list for your specific villa. If towels are not provided there are several shops in the Las Sabinas area where you can purchase high quality beach and pool towels. Most community pools do not have a towel service so you will need to bring your own from your accommodation.

Are the pools saltwater or chlorine?

The majority of pools at the resort use traditional chlorine systems to maintain hygiene. However a growing number of private villa owners are switching to salt water chlorination systems. These are often gentler on the skin and eyes. If you have a specific preference or a sensitivity to chlorine you should mention this during the booking process so we can identify a suitable property for your stay.

Is there a lifeguard at the pools?

Lifeguard cover varies by community and season, so ask us before you book. Children should be supervised at all times.
